Softball Recap: Lehighton Indians vs. Northern Lehigh Bulldogs
Lehighton extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 5-12-1. They lost 11-1 to the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-8 back in April.
Lehighton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Wise, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Northern Lehigh, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Northern Lehigh's side, they got a big performance out of Addison Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Chrusical, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Lehighton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-16 loss against Jim Thorpe on the 5th. As for Northern Lehigh, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Palmerton on the 5th.
