Softball Game Preview: Marcus Marauders vs. Prosper Eagles

For the second straight game, Marcus will face off against Prosper. The Marauders will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marcus' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Prosper's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Marcus heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They fell just short of Prosper by a score of 5-4.

For Prosper's part, Peyton Moya tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Moya has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Khyla Glover was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Analia Dishong was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Prosper is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Marcus, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
