Preview: New Castle Trojans vs. Batesville Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 The New Castle Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Batesville Bulldogs at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. New Castle is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
 Last Saturday, New Castle took a serious blow against Northeastern, falling  69-34. While losing is never fun, New Castle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 351st, while Northeastern is ranked 142nd).
 New Castle's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Morley Blessinger, who  scored 11 points along with five  rebounds, and  Emma Hart who  scored eight points along with five  assists. Those five  assists set a new season-high mark for her.
 Even though Batesville has not done well against East Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. Batesville came out on top against East Central by a score of  41-31. The  win was just what Batesville needed coming off of a  62-40 loss in their prior  contest.
 New Castle has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost seven of their last eight matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Batesville, they now  have a winning record of 7-6.
 New Castle lost to Batesville on the road  by a decisive  66-52 margin  in their previous matchup  back in December of 2022. Can New Castle avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
