Volleyball Recap: Standley Lake Beats Boulder for Their Sixth Straight Win

Standley Lake waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Boulder Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Standley Lake was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-11, 25-8.

Leading Standley Lake to victory were Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner and Maryn Paulson. Lambrecht-Gardner had eight assists and six aces, while Paulson had 12 digs and three assists. Those six aces gave Lambrecht-Gardner a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Standley Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive games.

Standley Lake's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Boulder, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

After both having extra time off, Standley Lake and Jefferson Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boulder, they will face off against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
