Recap: Notre Dame Prep Saints vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors
The Notre Dame Prep Saints waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shadow Mountain 73-16 at home. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame Prep, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Leading Notre Dame Prep to victory were Ava Pautz and Ayla Keefe. Pautz scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Keefe scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The game was Pautz's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Frankel, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Notre Dame Prep pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 52 points. As for Shadow Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Notre Dame Prep will face off against Sunnyslope at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Sunnyslope is ranked 33rd, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 21st). Shadow Mountain will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thunderbird at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
