Softball Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

Geneva and Ashford squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Geneva had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 12-5.

Geneva has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Ashford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

Geneva has already played their next game, a 6-4 loss against Dale County on the 29th. Hopefully Ashford paid attention to the Panthers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
