Volleyball Recap: Skyview Beats Gateway for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Skyview waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gateway Olympians. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Olympians, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Skyview was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8, 25-14.

Analise Barros paced Skyview's offense, picking up ten kills. Barros got some help from Maya Esqueda and her 14 assists. Marissa Becerra and Bysleydi Martinez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Skyview's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Gateway, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Skyview will take on Thornton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway, they will venture away from home to take on Adams City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Olympians are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
