Recap: Jackson Preparatory & Early College Falcons vs. Will Carleton Academy Cougars
The Jackson Preparatory & Early College Falcons came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Will Carleton Academy by a score of 52-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jackson Preparatory & Early College also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Preparatory & Early College to victory, but perhaps none more so than Royce Baltimore , who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Baltimore has scored at least 25% of Jackson Preparatory & Early College's points. Dwan Bradshaw was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Thomas Maier, who scored six points along with eight steals and six assists.
Even though they lost, Will Carleton Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Jackson Preparatory & Early College pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Will Carleton Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson Preparatory & Early College will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Battle Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Will Carleton Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Calhoun Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
