Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Wildcats vs. Xenia Buccaneers

The Springfield Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Xenia Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Springfield came out on top against Wayne on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Wildcats blew past the Warriors 9-1.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Xenia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Triad 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buccaneers have posted since March 30th.

Xenia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, their record is now 7-14.
