The Teurlings Catholic Rebels will face off against the Comeaux Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Teurlings Catholic's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Comeaux has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Teurlings Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Westgate get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Dylan Helms looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evan Vincent, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Power, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Teurlings Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Comeaux's offense. They lost 10-0 to New Iberia on Wednesday.
Teurlings Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Comeaux's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Teurlings Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. However, it's not like Comeaux struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Teurlings Catholic's way against Comeaux in their previous meeting back in March of 2017, as Teurlings Catholic made off with a 10-0 win. Does Teurlings Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Comeaux turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
