Soccer Recap: Carthage Takes a Loss

Carthage lost against Kilgore back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Carthage lost 4-1 to Kilgore. While losing is never fun, Carthage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 644th, while Kilgore is ranked 59th).

Carthage has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Kilgore is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carthage will challenge Tenaha at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kilgore, they will face off against Henderson at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Kilgore's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Henderson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
