Football Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss + How To Watch

While it was Alhambra who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Montebello who put up more. The Moors fell just short of the Oilers by a score of 29-26. The defeat continues a trend for the Moors in their meetings with the Oilers: they've now lost three in a row.

Loss or not, Alhambra got some senior leadership from Bryan Leonard and Halen Tsang. Leonard threw for 248 yards and a pair of TDs, while Tsang gained 96 total yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of Leonard's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Marco Vasquez.

Curiel's passing game has become a key predictor of Montebello's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Montebello, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Alhambra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 56-0 loss against Schurr on the 17th. As for Montebello, they have also already played their next game, a 35-7 defeat against Bell Gardens on the 17th.
