Basketball Game Preview: McDonogh Eagles vs. St. Timothy's

The McDonogh Eagles will face off against St. Timothy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

McDonogh is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: Rosedale Christian Academy, who was ranked eighth at the time (McDonogh was ranked 15th). The Eagles took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosedale Panthers on Monday.

Meanwhile, St. Timothy's unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of St. Frances Academy by a score of 54-52.

Despite the loss, St. Timothy's saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dream Clark went 7-for-16 en route to 17 points. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laila Robinson, who posted eight points.

McDonogh's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Timothy's, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

McDonogh didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Timothy's when the teams last played back in December of 2025, but they still walked away with a 45-41 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Timothy's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
