Basketball Recap: Henry-Senachwine Mallards vs. Leland Panthers
Henry-Senachwine was the 50-26 winner over Leland when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Henry-Senachwine Mallards fell just short of the Leland Panthers by a score of 54-52 on Monday. The Mallards just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Declan Brennan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Brennan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gunnar Nelson, who en route to 17 points along with six boards and four blocks.
Henry-Senachwine's loss dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Leland, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16.
Henry-Senachwine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-39 defeat against Putnam County on the 18th. As for Leland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-39 loss against Parkview Christian Academy on the 21st.
