Baseball Recap: West Caldwell Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for West Caldwell's offense. They lost 14-0 to the South Caldwell Spartans on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 18-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

West Caldwell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Martin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for West Caldwell and nudges their season record down to 1-18. As for South Caldwell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.

Looking ahead, West Caldwell will host Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Caldwell, they will head out on the road to challenge Alexander Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
