Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rebels vs. Gosnell Pirates

The Highland Rebels will head out to face off against the Gosnell Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Highland is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Brookland just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 42-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. The contest marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gosnell played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 62-32 loss at the hands of Blytheville. The Pirates were down 46-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Highland's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Gosnell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Highland against Gosnell in their previous meeting on January 9th, as the team secured a 61-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
