Basketball Recap: Aurora West College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Aurora West College Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arvada Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-41 two weeks ago.

Arvada found their leader in sophomore Tre Kent, who en route to 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kent has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marcos Actsta, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Arvada, their win bumped their record up to 4-18.

Looking ahead, Aurora West College Prep Academy will venture away from home to challenge Ascent Classical Academy on Wednesday. As for Arvada, they will host Alameda at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
