After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ord, Central City was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Boone Central Cardinals 69-66. This was payback for the Bison, who suffered a 61-52 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Central City had a senior duo take command as Karter Negus went 7-for-13 en route to 24 points and seven boards and Kayden Morner almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Negus has scored at least a third of the Bison's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Vakiner, who posted seven points.

Despite the loss, Boone Central still got an impressive performance from Jacob Miller, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Miller, who scored 19 points and six boards.
