Baseball Recap: Johnston Falls Short Against Ranked Waukee

Johnston faced Waukee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Dragons fell 6-3 to the Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on June 2nd.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Waukee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Johnston beat Waukee by a score of 4-2 later that day.
