Basketball Recap: Lake Minneola Takes a Loss

Lake Minneola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Wildwood Wildcats, falling 66-14. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wildwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trinidy Harris, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. Harris' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Brown, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals.

Lake Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wildwood, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lake Minneola will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Wildwood and Gainesville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wildwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
