Recap: Eldon Mustangs vs. Cuba Wildcats
It was a good run, but the Eldon Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 69-57 to Cuba. Eldon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cuba apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Eldon still got an impressive performance from Sydney Halderman, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Halderman hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Madeline Oltmann, who scored six points along with three steals.
Eldon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Cuba, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Eldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cuba will head out on the road to square off against Steelville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
