Basketball Recap: Lund Sets Scoring Season-High Against Carlin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lund). They enjoyed a cozy 43-29 victory over the Carlin Railroaders on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Carlin still got an impressive performance from Kylie Kennedy, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Bretta Melendez was another key player, putting up five points.

Lund's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Carlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Lund and Carlin's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Lund and Eureka (who has only given up 19.21 points per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Carlin will square off against Owyhee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a squad that's only allowed 27.06 points per game.
