Basketball Recap: Rushville Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Rushville faced off against Lawrenceburg on Saturday. The Rushville Lions came out on top against the Lawrenceburg Tigers by a score of 45-33. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 56-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rushville can attribute much of their success to Leonie Boyer, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Mikayla Herbert was another key player, putting up six points.

Rushville was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrenceburg only posted four assists.

Despite the loss, Lawrenceburg still got an impressive performance from Natalie Knigga, who had 15 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Rushville back to even at 6-6. As for Lawrenceburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Rushville will be taking part in a tournament against Northridge at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lawrenceburg, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beech Grove at 10:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025.
