Softball Recap: Baldwinsville Takes a Loss

Baldwinsville extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Northstars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in April.

As for Cicero-North Syracuse, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

For Cicero-North Syracuse's part, the team relied heavily on Sydney Rockwell, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Baldwinsville will square off against Rome Free Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Black Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bees surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, they are taking a road trip to challenge Liverpool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
