Football Recap: Cypress Bay Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Stoneman Douglas last Thursday, Cypress Bay came back down to earth. The Lightning lost to the Flanagan Falcons on the road by a 40-24 margin on Thursday. The Lightning were down 34-8 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Cypress Bay lost, don't look at Logan P. Despite the final result, he rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 141 yards on 16 of 34 attempts.

Chance Humphrey had an outrageously good game for Flanagan as he threw for 107 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. Jahmari Johnston was another key player, picking up 37 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cypress Bay's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cypress Bay will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McArthur at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Flanagan, they will take on Everglades at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
