Football Recap: Lamar County Comes Up Short

If Lamar County was feeling good fresh off their 39-14 takedown of Greene County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Vincent Yellow Jackets 53-18 on Friday. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-0.

Lane Mims had an outrageously good game for Vincent as he threw for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Carlisle, who rushed for 59 yards and one score on only five carries.

Lamar County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Vincent, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar County will take on Berry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vincent, they will challenge Sulligent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
