Softball Recap: Litchfield's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Litchfield had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons 22-5 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dragons also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Kelsey Palmer looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up five earned runs off only two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Janelle Quast was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Stella Braaten, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

Litchfield lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Litchfield's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Litchfield will venture away from home to challenge Glencoe-Silver Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, they will take on Royalton at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
