Preview: Wayne County Cardinals vs. Daviess County Panthers
Wayne County has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Daviess County Panthers in a holiday battle at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wayne County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Williamsburg 66-31 at home. Given Wayne County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Williamsburg is ranked 230th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Daviess County made easy work of McLean County on Monday and carried off a 53-27 win. The win was just what Daviess County needed coming off of a 78-52 loss in their prior matchup.
Wayne County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.67 points. As for Daviess County, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
