Baseball Recap: Subiaco Academy Triumphs

While Subiaco Academy's win against Danville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Little Johns 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Trojans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Nathan Aquilar made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Aquilar was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian Kennedy, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gregory Martijn, Jr, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Subiaco Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Danville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Subiaco Academy will venture away from home to face off against Lavaca at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Danville, they will head out to take on Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
