If Merritt Island was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Cocoa last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Merritt Island fell 8-4 to the Fort Myers Green Wave on Friday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Audri Hedleston was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. Keilen Cecere was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Merritt Island's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fort Myers, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.
