Softball Recap: Barnwell Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Barnwell came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Whale Branch Warriors. Considering the Warhorses have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kinsley Terrapin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall O'Berry, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Barnwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whale Branch only posted an OBP of .182.

Barnwell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Whale Branch, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Barnwell beat the Warriors by a score of 12-0 later that day.
