Football Game Preview: Owensboro Catholic Aces vs. Beechwood Tigers

Two dominant signal callers in Dre'Mail Carothers and Emmett Queen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Owensboro Catholic Aces will face off against the Beechwood Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Owensboro Catholic sitting on nine straight wins and Beechwood on eight.

Owensboro Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 27-19 victory over Somerset.

Miles Edge continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.

Owensboro Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jude Cecil and Nick Sims.

Meanwhile, Beechwood won against Walton-Verona last Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Tigers blew past Prestonsburg 42-0. Considering the Tigers have won 11 contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Owensboro Catholic's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Beechwood, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Things could have been worse for Owensboro Catholic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-34 loss to Beechwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Aces avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
