Volleyball Recap: Rangely Panthers vs. Coal Ridge Titans
After flying high against West Grand on Friday, Rangely came back down to earth. The Rangely Panthers fell 3-1 to the Coal Ridge Titans on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
While Rangely had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 25-18.
Coal Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Coon out in front who had 18 digs.
Rangely's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Coal Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Rangely and Hayden will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coal Ridge, they will take on Basalt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is facing Basalt at the right time seeing as Basalt is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
