Football Recap: Cowanesque Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sayre last Friday, Cowanesque Valley came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the Wellsboro Hornets on Friday, falling 37-15. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Cowanesque Valley lost, don't look at Kegan Lane. Despite the final result, he rushed for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Lane's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Cowanesque Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Wellsboro, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Cowanesque Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 54-6 defeat against South Williamsport on the 26th. As for Wellsboro, they have also already played their next game, a 35-22 loss against Athens on the 26th.
