High school volleyball: Ava Sarafa, Kennedy Phelan lead updates to MaxPreps Volleyball National High School Record Book

Nya St. Cyr of Belle Chasse, Ava Sarafa of Marian, Brooklyn Jaeger of Fayetteville among new additions to MaxPreps record book for 2022 season.

Nya St. Cyr of Belle Chasse (La.), Ava Sarafa of Marian (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Brooklyn Jaeger of Fayetteville (Texas) are three of the highest ranking additions to the MaxPreps Volleyball National High School Record Book after the conclusion of the 2022 season.

St. Cyr made the record book on two lists, posting 275 blocks for the season and 929 for her career. Her block total ranks sixth all-time. She's joined on the career blocks list by Ella Lomigora of Corona del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.), who is seventh all-time with 907 career blocks.

Sarafa became the 16th player all-time to surpass 5,000 career assists. With 5,092 career assists, She moved into 15th place all-time, just ahead of former Marian standout Mary Henry, who had 5,015 from 2008 to 2011.

Jaeger joins the career kills list at No. 4 all-time with 3,133 kills. She also ranks as the all-time leader from Texas.



The additions to the record book are for career and single season records only. Single game records will be added at a later date. Others may join the record book once state associations have updated their record books. To submit additions to the record book, email kevinaskeland65@gmail.com.

Gabby Elliott of Wayne (W. Va.) with 227 season aces.

Nathalie Tsai of Chamblee (Ga.) with 198 season aces.

Ellie Birkhead of CSTHEA Patriots (Chattanooga, Tenn.) with 319 season blocks.

Quincie Hrinik of CSTHEA Patriots with 319 season blocks.



Harper Murray of Skyline (Ann Arbor, Mich.) with 2,488 career kills.

Taylor Pecht of Sequoyah (Canton, Ga.) with 4,657 career assists.

Kennedy Phelan of Fayetteville (Ark.) with 3,972 career assists.

Allie Hazelwood of Madison Central (Madison, Miss.) with 531 career aces.

Kinley Phillips of Timberlake Christian (Forest, Va.) with 585 career aces.

Emily Denison of Philip Barbour (Philippi, W. Va.) with 582 career blocks.
