DeWitt came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Drew Central Pirates as they made off with a 26-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 back in April.
NECI HILL was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, AC COX was incredible, firing off six RBI, four runs, and two triples while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). EMMA BAZAROW was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
DeWitt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
DeWitt pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Drew Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
