Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saugus walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Murrieta Mesa Rams with a sharp 9-3 victory on Tuesday. The Centurions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Daniel Harris looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Saugus got a massive performance out of Matt Long, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zackery Seeley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Saugus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Murrieta Mesa only managed five hits.

The win (which was Saugus' third in a row) raised their record to 18-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Murrieta Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Looking ahead, Saugus will square off against Ganesha at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Giants will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Centurions surely won't give up without a fight. Murrieta Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
