Baseball Recap: Cortez Takes a Loss

Cortez lost against Washington back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cortez took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aeryk Snyder was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andre Shepard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Washington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Cortez will venture away from home to face off against Tempe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cortez is facing Tempe at the right time seeing as Tempe is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Washington, they will be playing at home against Independence at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Independence will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's match.
