Softball Recap: McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets vs. Elberta Warriors
McGill-Toolen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 14-4 loss at the hands of the Elberta Warriors. McGill-Toolen was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elberta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Izzi Hadley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
On Elberta's side, Destiny Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with an RBI.
In other batting news, Elberta got a massive performance out of Blakely Hooper, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Ava Jennings was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
McGill-Toolen's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Elberta, they pushed their record up to 11-17 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
