After flying high against Sunrise Mountain last Friday, Cactus came back down to earth. The Cactus Cobras took a 21-6 bruising from the Desert Edge Scorpions on Friday. The Cobras' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Cactus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jayson Burkhard, Gabriel Sotelo, and John Jones picked up one apiece. Jones also set a new season high mark in total tackles with ten.

Desert Edge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Byron Brandon, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Those 86 rushing yards gave Brandon a new career-high. Blake Roskopf also helped out by tossing the rock for 272 yards.
