Baseball Game Preview: Lawrence Upper Lions vs. Lincoln West Wolverines

The Lawrence Upper Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln West Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lawrence Upper, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Lawrence Upper beat Fuchs Mizrachi 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Dominic Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Jordan Jackson and Will Crooks did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while Crooks went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two hits gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max Samac, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Lincoln West fell victim to Rittman and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Indians. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lawrence Upper now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lincoln West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Lawrence Upper was able to grind out a solid win over Lincoln West when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 10-5. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
