Basketball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short

Escalante lost against Pecos back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Escalante Lobos and the Pecos Panthers didn't end well, with the Escalante Lobos falling 45-29. The Lobos just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Pecos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalia Stout, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. What's more, Stout also racked up five assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Analiyah Armijo was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Pecos, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Escalante has already played their next game (against Los Alamos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pecos will welcome Tucumcari at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tucumcari will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Pecos surely won't give up without a fight.
