Preview: Byron Nelson Bobcat vs. Keller Indians
Byron Nelson and Keller are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Byron Nelson Bobcat on the road again on Friday and play against the Keller Indians at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Byron Nelson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Keller is ranked 15th).
Last Friday, Byron Nelson escaped with a win against Timber Creek by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42.
Meanwhile, Keller entered their tilt with Southlake Carroll with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Keller blew past Southlake Carroll 48-27. Keller has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Byron Nelson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. As for Keller, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Byron Nelson ended up a good deal behind Keller when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 53-34. Can Byron Nelson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
