Baseball Game Preview: Goffstown Grizzlies vs. Exeter Blue Hawks

The Goffstown Grizzlies will take on the Exeter Blue Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Goffstown 3.4, Exeter 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Goffstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Salem, who was ranked 25th at the time (Goffstown was ranked fourth). The Grizzlies blew past the Blue Devils 19-7 on Monday. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Exeter entered their match against Pinkerton on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blue Hawks fell just short of the Astros by a score of 3-1.

Exeter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aedan Messier, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Goffstown pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Exeter, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.

Goffstown took their victory against Exeter in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Grizzlies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
