Basketball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

After flying high against Prairie Ridge last Friday, Hampshire came back down to earth. The Hampshire Whip-Purs were beaten by the Huntley Red Raiders 51-23 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Whip-Purs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 14th).

Hampshire now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Huntley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 24-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampshire will face off against Cary-Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntley has already played their next match (against Jacobs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
