Football Game Preview: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Tishomingo County Braves

New Albany is a perfect 4-0 against Tishomingo County since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will host the Braves at 7:00 p.m. Tishomingo County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Albany, who comes in off a win.

New Albany's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over South Pontotoc. Considering the Bulldogs have won four matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Braden Shettles had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 226 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylen Knox, who gained 68 total yards and a touchdown.

New Albany's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jaxon Highlander five times. South Pontotoc's QB won't forget William Hardy anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Tishomingo County's offense. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of Corinth on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Braves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

New Albany is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games. As for Tishomingo County, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for New Albany against Tishomingo County in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 56-7 victory. In that game, the Bulldogs amassed a halftime lead of 42-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
