Baseball Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

Russell suffered their closest defeat since March 29th on Monday. They fell just short of the Raceland Rams by a score of 5-3. The Red Devils have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Russell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jared Whitt, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Elijah Hankins was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Russell's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Raceland, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

While Russell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
