Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Trimble

Trimble had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 6-4 to make it seven. Everything went their way against the Federal Hocking Lancers as they made off with a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tomcats, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jessa Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Trimble let Daisy Harvey and Olivia Kasler run wild. Harvey went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kasler went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Harvey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Burdette, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Trimble hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.

As for Federal Hocking, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Federal Hocking's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trimble will welcome Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tomcats will need to watch out since the Tornadoes have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Federal Hocking, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Belpre at 5:00 p.m.
