Recap: Victory Christian Academy Storm vs. Cardinal Mooney Cougars
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Victory Christian Academy Storm, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Cougars on Friday. While losing is never fun, Victory Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Cardinal Mooney is ranked 111th).
It was another big night for Carson Beach, who rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries for Cardinal Mooney. Beach's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Devin Mignery and his 107 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Cardinal Mooney's victory.
Cardinal Mooney's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was George Leibold and his two sacks.
Victory Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record.
Victory Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cardinal Mooney will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m. North Florida Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
