Baseball Recap: Ponca City Takes a Loss

Ponca City lost against Southmoore back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the SaberCats by a score of 2-1.

Isaiah Branstetter was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last three contests. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Ponca City's defeat dropped their record down to 13-22. As for Southmoore, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-16.

While Ponca City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
